INTRODUCTION

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an organization under Government of India to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices.This commission is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) which consists of Chairman, two Members and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations. This post is equivalent to the level of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.

The full form of ‘SSC MTS’ is Staff Selection Commission Multi Tasking Staff. Staff Selection Commission or SSC conducts the SSC MTS Exam every year. SSC MTS job is one of the most important parts of the functioning of bureaucracy. Once you qualify in all the selection stages, you are hired in CCAS cadre. CCAS is Central Civil Accounts Service, which means you become a Group ‘C’ employee. This year, the SSC MTS exam is taking place online.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SSC MTS 2019

The educational qualifications, age limit, and nationality of the candidates are considered in the eligibility criteria of SSC MTS Recruitment 2019 for the post of probationary officers. The candidates who applied for the SBI probationary officers post should be a citizen of India. Check out more details about the eligibility criteria below.

Educational Qualifications: (AS ON 01.08.2019) 

The candidates must have passed Matriculation Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board.Candidates who have not yet acquired but will acquire the educational qualification and produce documentary evidence from the Board in support thereof as on 01-08-2019 are also eligible.All candidates who are declared qualified by the Commission for Document Verification will be required to produce the relevant Certificates such as Mark sheets, Provisional Certificates etc. for completion of Matriculation or equivalent in original as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before 01-08-2019, failing which the candidature of such candidates will be cancelled by the Commission. The candidates who are able to prove, by documentary evidence, that the result of the qualifying examination was declared on or before the cut-off date i.e. 01-08-2019 and he/ she has been declared passed, will also be considered to meet the educational qualification.The candidates possessing equivalent educational qualification shall also produce relevant Equivalence Certificate from the concerned authorities at the time of Document Verification. However, final decision regarding selection of such candidates will be taken by the concerned User Departments.

Age Limit (As on 01.04.2019)

The candidate’s age should not be below 21 and not more than 30 years as on 01. 04. 2019 which means he/she must not be born before 01.04.1997 and not after 02.04.1988 . Check out the age relaxation for various categories in the table below.

12. Widows/ Divorced Women/ Women judicially separated and who are not remarried. Up to 35 years of age
13. Widows/ Divorced Women/ Women judicially separated and who are not remarried (SC/ ST). Up to 40 years of age
14. Service Clerks in the last year of their colour service in the Armed Forces. Up to 45 years of age
15. Service Clerks in the last year of their colour service in the Armed Forces (SC/ ST). Up to 50 years of age
16. Retrenched census employees of the office of Registrar General of India (They will be considered only for offices under RGI in their order of merit and subject to availability of vacancies) 3 years plus length of service rendered by them in connection with census, before retrenchment and weightage of past service.

SSC MTS Exam 2016-17 will take place to fill 10,302 vacancies this year. Earlier there were 8,300 vacancies which have been increased to 10,302 vacancies.

SSC MTS 2019 Exam Pattern:

The SSC MTS Staff Selection Process is very simple! The complete SSC MTS Exam takes place in just 2 stages and there is no interview!

The two stages are:

  • Computer Based Examination (Paper-I) (Multiple Choice Questions based)

  • Descriptive Paper (Paper-II).

Given below is the detailed SSC MTS Exam Pattern for Written Exam. Note that, the SSC MTS Exam Pattern 2019 has just undergone some significant changes! Major points about these changes are:

  • Paper-I will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi for Part-II, III & IV.

  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

  • Answer Keys, in due course after the Computer Based Examination, will be placed on the website of the Commission (https://ssc.nic.in). Any representation regarding answer keys received within the time limit fixed by the Commission at the time of uploading of the answer keys, will be scrutinized and the decision of the Commission in this regard will be final. No representation regarding Answer keys shall be entertained, afterwards

  • Marks scored by candidates in Paper-I will be normalized by using the formula published by the Commission through Notice No: 1-1/ 018-P & P-I dated 07-02-2019 and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks.

Given below is the Exam Pattern for the SSC MTS Descriptive Paper or Stage II of the Multi Tasking Staff Exam.

  • Paper-II will be of descriptive type in which the candidate will be required to write a short essay or letter in English or any language included in the VIII Schedule of the Constitution.

  • Paper-II will only be of qualifying nature and is intended to test elementary language skills in view of categorization of the post as Group-C and in view of job requirements. However, marks scored by the candidates in Paper-II will be used to decide merit in case more than one candidate score equal normalized marks in Paper-I.

  • Paper-II will be held only for those candidates who meet the cut-off prescribed by the Commission in Paper-I for different categories.

How to apply for SSC MTS 2019

  • Candidates will be required to register themselves online through SSC official website. - Recruitment of SSC MTS.
  • Candidates should have valid email ID and mobile no.which should be kept active till the declaration of results. It will help him/her in getting call letter/advices etc. by email/SMS.
  • Submit the Application Form. Last date for submission of online applications is 29-05-2019 (5.00 PM).
  • The payment can be made by using debit card/credit card/Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen. Transaction charges for online payment, if any, will be borne by the candidates.
  • On successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt and application form with fee details will be generated; which may be printed for record.
  • Take out the Print Out of the Application Form for future reference.

How to Download Admit Card

  • Go to http://ssc.nic.in/ and click on careers section.
  • Select download SSC MTS 2019 call letter for preliminary examination
  • Then enter your Registration Number/Roll Number and Date of Birth/Password
  • Finally click on the submit button, your SSC MTS 2019 admit card will be generated and take a print.
  • The SSC MTS 2019 admit card is issued and available 10 days prior to the examination. It will be available in the official website of the bank. Candidates are required to download the admit card and get a printed copy of the same.
