Reserve Bank of India is an ‘equal opportunity employer’. This means you have to write an examination which will test your analytical skill, logical thinking, awareness of latest developments and in depth knowledge of a chosen subject. In the first phase of the examination, you will be tested on quantitative aptitude and reasoning, general awareness and English language. Those who qualify will be tested in the second phase on English (writing skills), Economic & Social Problems and one optional subject from Finance & Management, Economics or Statistics. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA


The educational qualifications, age limit, and nationality of the candidates are considered in the eligibility criteria of RBI Assistant 2018 for the post of Assistants. The candidates who applied for the RBI Assistant post should be a citizen of India. Check out more details about the eligibility criteria below.

Educational Qualification: (AS ON 01.01.2018) 

A candidate should have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate

Age Limit (As on 01.01.2018)

The candidate’s age should not be below 20 and not more than 28 years as on 01. 04. 2018 which means he/she must not be born before 01.04.1997 and not after 02.04.1988 . Check out the age relaxation for various categories in the table below.

Exam Pattern :

RBI selection process for the Assistants 2017 exam consists of 3 stages, which are:

  1. Phase I - Prelims Exam

  2. Phase II - Mains Exam

  3. Phase III - Language Proficiency Test

Phase I – Prelims Exam

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online. The test will have of 3 Sections as follows:

Phase II – Mains Exam

Those who qualify through the Prelims Exam are eligible to write the Mains Exam. This will be a 200 mark paper with a composite time of 2 hours. It will be an online objective test

*Note:Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination)

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT) -

The candidates provisionally selected from the main on-line examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned (Annex-IV). Candidate not proficient in the Official/Local Language would be disqualified.

Final Selection

Final selection will be on the basis of candidate's performance in the online main examination, biometric verification and Language Proficiency Test taken together in order of merit.

How to apply for RBI Assistant 2018

  • Candidates may go to the RBI website www.rbi.org.in and click on the option "Recruitment for the post of Assistant" which will open a new screen.
  • Candidates should have valid email ID and mobile no.which should be kept active till the declaration of results. It will help him/her in getting call letter/advices etc. by email/SMS.
  • Submit the Application Form.
  • The payment can be made by using debit card/credit card/Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen. Transaction charges for online payment, if any, will be borne by the candidates.
  • On successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt and application form with fee details will be generated; which may be printed for record.
  • Take out the Print Out of the Application Form for future reference.

Admit Card for For RBI Assistant 2018

The Admit card for RBI Assistant 2018 Preliminary Exam will be released first followed by Admit Card for Mains Exam for the candidates qualifying the Preliminary Phase of Examination. Candidates must download their Admit Card from the online as the hard copy of the Admit Card won't be sent to candidates via post. RBI Assistant Admit Card for Preliminary Exam will be issued to candidates as soon as the Online Application Process has been completed for RBI Assistant 2018 Exam is completed.

How to Download Admit Card

  • Go to https://rbi.org.in/ and click on careers section.
  • Select download RBI Assistant 2018 call letter for preliminary examination
  • Then enter your Registration Number/Roll Number and Date of Birth/Password
  • Finally click on the submit button, your RBI Assistant 2018 admit card 2018 will generated and take a print.
  • The RBI Assistant 2018 admit card is issued and available 10 days prior to the examination. It will be available in the official website of the bank. Candidates are required to download the admit card and get a printed copy of the same.

RBI ASSISTANT PREVIOUS YEAR CUT OFF

RBI Assistant Prelims and Mains objective Cut off Marks are different for each section (ie., Cutoff marks for English, Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, General Awareness).
